We are still awaiting feedback from Betfair on our initial submission for security vetting of the app.
We are continuing to test the app and fix any bugs we see. There is still some work to do on the reliability but we hope to release a version soon for beta testing by members.
Ok so we had some feedback from Betfair regarding the new version and we have to make some changes and resubmit the app for approval. We think this can be done with in a week.
A more serious issue has come to light during our testing in that the app tends to freeze occasionally for some random reasons. We cannot afford to release the program if it is not working as it should do, so we will need to revisit some of the old code, going back to the days when the software was first written in 2009, to get the software working reliably. This could take a little while, maybe 3-4 weeks or so.
This should not stop us releasing something for you all to get going with sooner than that, but that is what we are doing in the back ground.
We will let you know when we have a new update from Betfair asap hopefully this week.
All users who have future updates included will of course be able to download any new software when it is available.
All of you who have recently purchased an update option for 6 months we will extend your dates for updates to take effect from when the new software is released, so you do not lose any time.

Our estimate of a release date beginning week of the 12th Jan has come and gone and we appologise that it is taking longer than originally anticipated.

We are trying to sort out a few issues. Mainly that the bet settling time is taking to long. It is taking approx 4 mins longer than it should and so a few races are missed due to this when using unsettled bets option.
There is also a small licensing issue we need to sort, but it could be that we can release a version for testing during the next few days. We are hopeful!

Ok so we released a beta version for Betfair API-NG for testing by members who have registered for beta testing.

This is where we find out if it works on anyone else’s PC? Once we are happy after a alot of bug fixes no doubt we will be able to
offer the software for free trial again.

We have now had some considerable feedback from the Beta testers. Thanks to all of you who have sent in detailed error reports and notified us of the issues. There are quite a few issues in this first release as one might expect so we are working away to fox those asap.
We will put up a new version in the next day or so which has better speed when it comes to simulated bets and also should stop some of the freezing and closing down problems some of you have experienced.
Generally the feedback has been good and people can place their bets. Some issues are with manual bets and multiple manual selections. Other multiple selection issues with dutching etc.
Keep an eye on the members area for another updated version, although it will be the same beta version 5.01, it will say 5.03 in your control panel/add/remove programs.
You will need to uninstall the older one first.

Sorry for the delay in updates:
We have been putting up updates almost weekly to fix some issues. This last few weeks we have been dealing with loading of markets and other sports. We are basically finished and just need to sort out another few issues, then we will be able to load most markets and events available on Betfair.
Initially not all markets could be loaded and when loading markets like soccer and greyhounds some markets were missing. This is now sorted.
Keep checking the members area for updates over the next few days.
There are still plenty or things to fix, bug wise but we are getting there, slowly but surely.
There is a new version of the beta software available in the members area for Betfair.
There is a new market event loading system so now you should have no problem downloading all events
in soccer, greyhounds, horses, handball, rugby or whatever. It is faster too to load to so that should be a big improvement on the last version.
Also a few stability fixes have been made along with bugs. There is still a list of issues we need to sort but now we have improved the market loading we can start to work on those.

This version fixes some issues with Aus multiple bets under minimum stake, plus some stability and bug fixes.
We are cracking on with other items but we are trying to solve the more critical issues first.
When testing please start a clean instance in case of compatibility issues.

This fixes the issue with saddle cloth numbers as well as some dutch staking tweaks.
Please be aware that betfair have been having alot of issues recently with attacks on their website which has been disrupting services. Please see the previous post regarding this.

We have not done an update in a while and the reason for that is we have been concentrating our efforts on the re-write of the software.
This is taking a lot longer than initially thought again. Also the current beta version still needs some updates however
we are having issues dedicating time to it as our programmer is also having to be away for a while.
We are hopeful we will have something more positive to report soon but in the meantime our apologies
for the delay in solving some of these issues.
You maybe wondering why there have been no updates recently. The reason is that nothing has really changed. In May our current programmer left us in the lurch and has not been seen since. This has left us in a difficult position as the re-write of the software has halted and no new updates to the beta have been forth coming.
The current beta version has quite a few issues due to shoe horning the new api into the existing architecture. Many of the other vendors have also had lots of bugs introduced into their existing apps and by doing so are missing out on the better functionality that is available in the new api. We will resolve this in the new re-write of the software.
There is some good news however in that we have been in discussions with a few new programmers who we hope will be able to complete the re-write of the software for API-NG. We hope this new work will be starting in a week or so. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Again we appologise for the delays in the new software. It has been a difficult year and we thank you all for your patience.

Betfair has recently applied for a Portuguese licence and as part of the application process, we have now been asked by the regulator to temporarily switch off our site in Portugal whilst licensing is concluded.
Portuguese customers are still able to log into their accounts to withdraw funds until July 31, but no new bets can be placed from July 16. Betting will be suspended in the following ways:
We value our ongoing relationships in Portugal and understand that this development is frustrating. But in complying with this interim regulatory requirement we hope to be able to secure a long term future in Portugal. We will seek to provide regular updates on the situation, and please contact us if you have any further questions.

We are aware many users are having login issues. Betfair made a change to their api last night which we were not ware of. We are investigating the issue to see what can be done.
An update on the situation:
Betfair made a change to their api on 27th July 2015. After this change users experienced login issues with the Betbotpro software so the change had a breaking effect on the software.
Although the change was known to be in the pipeline we were told they would give 10 days notice before the change would take affect. Previous communication had been via email so we expected notice by email. Instead the notice was given via the betfair forum so were not aware of it happening.
But we now have someone working on the issue as well as trying to fix some of the other reported issues in the software so we are hopeful of releasing a fix with in the next week. It will take a little while for our new programmer to get up to speed hence the slightly longer delay.

Firstly apologies for the delay. Good news – There is a new version in the members area.
This fixes the recent Betfair changes made to the API which affected users logging in. There are also some other fixes regarding market loading and re-loading issues. It is much more reliable now.
The bot start up time has been improved along with some other small stability fixes.
We are still working our way through some of the previous issues regarding the API-NG changes but am pleased to say we can now move forward and updates should come thick and fast from now on to sort through these asap.

We’ll be performing a live test of the new API splash mechanism between 0900-1000 BST on Friday the 14th August.
During this time the API will return a HTTP “503” error code for sort period of time (~ 2 minutes) as we test the splashing and reinstatement of the service.
Please accept our apologies for the temporary loss of service that will occur during the above time as a result of this test.
What is Splashing you may ask:
This refers specifically to the mechanism that we use if an API outage occurs. We are testing this on Friday to ensure that this works as expected. The change will mean that when the API is unavailable for planned maintenance or due to an outage, the API will respond with a HTTP 503 error instead of redirecting to the HTML page currently used by the website.

There have been a number of occasions recently where Betfair have had some issues. There have also been some maintenance periods on the Betfair API where it has been down for an hour or two.
So please bear in mind if you are having login issues or some other issues with api software to check the Betfair system status pages or twitter updates they provide.
